History
Our company was founded in 1999 in Antalya, the capital of Turkey's Mediterranean Region. Lydion Inc. aspires to 100% customer satisfaction and specialises in producing custom designed jewellery and is the first multi-brand company in the market.
The Meaning of Lydion
The roots of the Lydian culture goes back almost 4000 years and reached its golden age in the first half of the 7th century BC when various Lydian Kingdoms vied to outshine each other culturally. It was the most interesting culture in the Near East; neither totally eastern nor western but a mixing pot of political and cultural aspects of both East and West .It was a new Anatolian Kingdom which integrated both cultures seamlessly. The arts of ivory carving and gold craftsmanship were quite advanced. Even the famous poet Homer praised Lydian ivory carving and gold craftsmanship. As well as ivory carving and gold craftsmanship the artist living in Lydia during the kingdom era also developed the art of pottery decorated with gold and paints and used these pots to export their famous creams and perfumes to the entire known world. They produced the vase or vessel known as the "Lydian". These vessels which were set on a conical base were exported to many parts of the ancient world. Our company takes its name from these exquisite miniature perfume filled vessels which were worn as necklaces and left a pleasant scent in the wake of the wearer.
